报告摘要:
Isogeometric analysis (IGA) was first introduced in 2005 as a variation of the finite element method, which instead of polynomial shape functions, utilizes shape functions used in computer-aided design (CAD) software to represent geometric models. In this seminar, some applications of isogeometric collocation and the generalization of IGA, known as Geometry Independent Field approximaTion (GIFT) will be demonstrated for problems of time harmonic acoustic scattering and bending and vibration of cracked Kirchhoff-Love plates. The main feature of GIFT is the ability to pair CAD geometries with locally refinable spline approximations of the solution, which preserves geometry exactness and allows adaptive mesh refinement to improve the computational efficiency and the overall accuracy of solutions.

Dr. Elena Atroshchenko obtained her PhD from the University of Waterloo, Ontario, Canada in 2010. From 2012 until 2018, she held a position of an Assistant Professor in the department of Mechanical Engineering, University of Chile, Santiago, Chile. In January 2019 she joined School of Civil and Environmental Engineering at University of New South Wales, Sydney, Australia in the role of a Senior Lecturer. Her research interests lie in the field of computational mechanics, with main focus on isogeometric and generalized isogeometric analysis, boundary element method, fracture mechanics, acoustics, shape and topology optimization.
